It was Mummy and Daddy' wedding anniversary so we decided to celebrate it with a "3 in 1" outing....yes, 3 outings in a day! The weather was just perfect...not hot at all and no rain but surprisingly a nice cool breeze.
First, we went to the nearby public zoo with Lion. Only RM2 per entry for adult and kids free of course. Lion was as usual drawn to the horse. Then he was also amazed when he saw a pigmy "ephant" (elephant) and some huge storks in the lake. The weather must be so good that the tigers and lions were having a very good nap so we didnt' manage to take any photos with them.
Next, we adjourned to the nearby gardens as Lion wanted to run around, play with the ball, see and smell the flowers and enjoy the nice cool breeze from the seaside. See Lion was busy kicking and throwing the ball around and occasionally he would stop and touch the flowers nearby.
After the gardens, we went home to freshen up and then we went out for Mummy and Daddy's wedding anniversary dinner at a nearby restaurant. Lion was in an exceptional good mood as he brought his little favourite book along to read while entertaining Mummy and Daddy plus the waitresses with his laughs and funny faces. We had a very nice soup, a steamed fish and some yummy coffee pork ribs for dinner. Lion also enjoyed eating the soup with the rice.
Overall, it was a very fun 3 in 1 outing and Lion enjoyed himself very much.
We took a one and half hour drive to the East Coast beach this weekend. It was drizzling all the way. But when we got to the Pulai Beach Resort Hotel and had a light snack at the coffee house there while Lion had his porridge, the drizzle stopped. We then adjourned to the beach with our picnic basket and had a wonderful picnic by the beach. Mummy & Daddy had lunch, chit chat & enjoyed the scenery while Lion played with the sand. We also took Lion to walk by the beach although we had to hold on to him tight as the current was quite strong due to the rainy weather. His blue cap (courtesy of Aunty Chickadee, got blown into the water) but luckily Mummy managed to get it back in time. Lion loved the beach so much that he just wanted to keep his feet in the water. But soon the drizzle started again so we had to make our way back to the hotel for cover but Lion kept pulling us to the direction of the beach & didn't want to budge. In the end, Mummy had to carry Lion back all the way while Daddy carried the picnic basket, knapsack & a huge golf umbrella in tow.
Overall it was a good outing & Lion was so exhausted that he slept all the way on our one and half hour journey back home. Will definitely go back again when the weather is better next time.
We went to the private zoo here recently. This zoo is great as it a small place to walk, clean and we can see the animals up close in their cages. But of course, we had to watch Lion as he kept walking too near the cages or animals. Lion likes the horse best (see above he's trying to communicate with the horse) & he also wanted to get near a monkey which was chained.
We also brought our ice box and some food and had a little picnic there.
The tiger cubs were so adorable too. Read in the Star today that they are naming one of cubs MJ after "Michael Jackson"!

Got this set of Tomy trains race set at a bargain as you can see everything on the box was in Japanese and so was the manual. However, it was pretty easy to set up just by looking at the pictures. Daddy called Mummy the "Engineer"! Lion was so excited about the race that he wanted to climb onto the table to join in the race! (See his left leg up on the table above). Something to keep him occupied for the weekend:)
After trying Pediasure for the last 3 months in the morning, Mummy has decided to change to Dutch Lady's Friso Gold 3 for Lion in the morning since Lion does not really like Pediasure anyway. After comparing various milk formula, Mummy decided on Dutch Lady's Friso Gold 3 as it contains probiotics like Pediasure and on top of that, the good bacteria Lactobacillus reuteri Protectis.
Mummy did some research and found one of the probiotic strains that babies acquire via breastfeeding is Lactobacillus reuteri Protectis which is a form of friendly bacteria that make them less susceptible to infectious diarrhoea and other gastrointestinal problems. Also, this probiotic strain induced a significant increase in immune cells which could translate to better health protection and fewer illness episodes. There is also substantial evidence that the probiotic strain L.reuteri Protectis possesses the ability to intefere with Helicobacter pylori in the gastric mucosa.
Since Lion has been falling ill with flu, cough and recent bout of vomiting, diarrhoea last month, Mummy hopes that Friso once in the morning will help strengthen Lion's immune system.
Since it has always been difficult to get Lion to drink water, Daddy got this set of 6 Rubbermaid Animal Juice Boxes free, in exchange for his credit card points. Since then, Lion loves to suck on them and he can actually finish one bottle of water throughout the day. The bottles comes in 6 animal designs which are about 8-10 oz per bottle. However in just 4 months, Lion is down to the fourth bottle already. Although the straw is made of hard plastic, he can still chew and bite on the straw until it cracks. As long as he drinks his water, Mummy is already very happy:)
